The good news just keeps on coming readers! So this week I found out that after applying for the OhioHealth Diversity Scholars Program, I’ve been selected! I’m so excited! This is an awesome opportunity! Of all that I could say, I feel like giving glory to God for the opportunity and giving advice all of pre-med readers is most important. Opportunities present themselves, doors were open, and sometimes we find that if we walk through those doors we reap amazing benefits. Often times it’s the doors that we may not have walked through that hold the richest experiences. So if I’m given an opportunity to sharpen my skills, to network, to become a better leader, I take it. You should too! I wouldn’t say that you should ever get yourself completely overloaded. I don’t feel overwhelmed and I’m one to do best when I have quite a bit on my plate. I found that having these opportunities, especially those that don’t have a very large time commitments assist me in remembering one that my time is very valuable and it prevents me from wasting it and two it allows me to really work on myself and becoming the best physician that I can.
I’m less than five days away from my Thanksgiving break and I just found out I’ll be cooking Thanksgiving dinner all I myself! I’ll be spending the rest of this week milling over the idea of all of the cooking I’m going to have to do rather than relaxing. Honestly, I just really can’t wait to get home and hang out with my family!
