The test before the actual class is over. Passed it and I’m moving on since we have another exam in less than 7 days. I’m not sure exactly how to keep up. We were told from the class above us to watch the lectures, go to active learning and use the text as a reference. That’s not going to work. Matter of fact every piece of advice we have been given is not going to work since the class has been revamped. Unfortunately it is not good news for me. We are reading a textbook to learn the bulk of the material. Many of the lectures have been removed from the course. The best part? Active learning is no longer optional. So my weeks will be exams on Mondays, Team Based Learning sessions over chapters of material on Wednesdays, and graded active learning sessions on Thursdays. Remember what I said about survival? I’m not so sure if I’m going to survive.
With this much in such a small amount of time, the time has come to retire my flashcards. I will not have time to make them and flip them. My study strategies from last year have depended on going to lecture so I’m at a complete loss as to how to do this. I’m going to try my professor’s suggestion of reading and doing questions to see where I need to brush up. Wish me luck, this one’s going to be a doozy. I’ve been told if I survive, I can make it through the rest of second year. My aim now is to survive…. Just survive….
