Wow, I cannot believe it is already 2019. I’m so excited to see the happiness that this year will bring! Sometimes it is easy to get caught up in planning and checklists and forget about the moments that bring true happiness. Below I have listed the few things that I am looking forward to!
- Completing 1 of 4 years of medical school! It is crazy to believe that in just 5 months I will be done with one whole year of medical school. I reflect on how much I have learned in just one semester. Grades make it difficult to look beyond the numerical value of what you have learned, but it is so important to realize and appreciate how much you have actually learned.
- DO Day on the Hill – This is an opportunity for all osteopathic medical students to advocate and meet with elected officials for their designated state. I am incredibly excited to be able to have this opportunity!
- Summer break – During this time I hope to be involved in research designed to improve patient care. I look forward to applying my skills that I learned during my first-year to clinical research. I also plan to take a long break from school and catch up on books, friends, and life!
- Recharged for second-year – I know I’ll be ready to return to Pikeville to start second-year. I hope to meet new, incoming first-years and help them successfully transition to medical school life.
This year looks promising and I hope to continue living out my dream and helping others achieve theirs as well!
