The results are in! I finally know where I’m headed after graduation!
Drum roll, please!
I will be going to…
Match Day was a very exciting experience. Albany Medical College holds an event in another school’s gymnasium so there was plenty of space for each student to bring as many supporters as he or she wanted. The room was packed with people milling around before the envelopes could be handed out at noon. There was plenty of tasty looking food but I was too nervous to eat, plus for whatever reason most of the food was not photo-friendly…I didn’t want to risk spinach in my teeth in the pictures! Finally 12:00 rolled around and I had my envelope in my hand. Some students waited a few minutes to open it but I couldn’t wait any longer. I opened the envelope and my fiancé and I read the result at the same time before sharing it with our friends. We were both thrilled!
Neither of us has ever lived on the West coast before so we are looking forward to seeing what adventures California has in store for us. Apparently, Sacramento is known as “The Big Tomato” and it is the city where the California State Fair is held each year. Long-time readers will know that I love state fairs, so I think I know where I will be in my spare time this July! I’ve already scoped out some of our other favorite activities, like pick your own fruits. You can pick your own boysenberries in California! Who knew? I’m not sure I’ve ever even tried one, but I’ll add it to the list of things to do once we arrive. Now that we know where we’re going, the mad rush to prepare begins. My fiancé needs to find a job and we need to plan out our cross-country move, which includes not just the two of us and our possessions but also our lovable, but not travel-friendly, cat. We’re also getting married the day before we have to leave for California! So we have a long to-do list ahead of us! Wish us luck!
