Finding (or even evolving) your personal style can be a struggle, especially when you have multiple ideas of what you want, but you can’t always put it together. We’ve all been there at least once, if not multiple times, as we gaze into our closet full of clothes and have nothing to wear.
So why is personal style even important? It’s important to still have a piece of YOU despite what life throws at us and what career we fall into. It’s important to be able to adapt while still maintaining a style that is all our own. Granted, if you’re going into surgery, you’re living in scrubs, but it doesn’t mean you can’t show off your style at various events and days off.
So back to why personal style is important—honestly, if you ask me, I think it even has something to do with your well-being, the way you view yourself even. The impact of personal style goes far beyond making a good first impression; great style is also about approaching each day with confidence, and the ability to feel legitimately GOOD in what we are wearing.
So let’s get into the good stuff.
- Seek Inspiration. I seek inspiration from everywhere and everyone. For example, if a friend of mine or even someone at a restaurant is wearing something I absolutely love, I always ask where they purchased the item from so I can keep a list of stores to check out when shopping for new clothes. Another thing I like to do—PINTEREST. I can pin images and outfit ideas to get a sense of what my “ideal style” is so that I can find similar pieces that will fit my personal budget when it’s time to go shopping for new pieces.
