It’s scholarship season again and as happy as I am about the opportunity to potentially get free money I’m really agitated about the fact that I don’t have as much time as I did last year to make sure all of these things get done. I’m trying to stay as organized as possible by making sure that I have a list of recommendation letters and keeping my due dates together, but I’m already missing due date for one of these that I was really excited about applying for. I think what I’m going to spend most of my time really looking at the scholarships that I apply for and specializing in the ones that will not only give me the most bang for my buck and that I’m most likely to be able to win rather than some of the other ones that aren’t as specialized. I really think it’s important for us as medical students to remember that for every dollar we take out, we’re going to have to it pay back and then some. Scholarships are great way to help mitigate the cost of medical school, especially the cost-of-living, but at the same time they just take up a lot of time!
Cardio is now seeming to be a lot more difficult than I originally thought. My professor did a really good job of hiding how difficult some of the stuff is. I didn’t realize until TBL today. I’m so I’m trying to balance all the things that I have going on outside of school, my extracurriculars, get a scholarship stuff ready and studying which isn’t going so well. A couple my positions will be ending quite soon. While I will definitely miss them, I know will be able to focus on my schoolwork and focus on making sure the things that I need to get done are being completed.
I’m sure that if I learn the material well enough this time around, reviewing for boards will be that much easier!
