It seems that I wake up on a daily basis feeling overwhelmed, stressed out, and unsettled. Since I have started my review course, I’ve been reviewing so much in such a little period of time. I cannot believe that almost 3 months have gone by and that I’ve only got a couple of weeks left in my course before I take another NBME and then hopefully STEP 1. I feel an immense pressure on my shoulders as I study day in and day out, thinking that I have these deadlines to meet and that I am expected to do significantly better after taking this course. This stress and mentality gets to me, and there are days when I just can’t seem to get out of bed and get myself to study.
One thing that has helped me get my life into focus is by taking cycling classes at the local gym right near my house. These classes are in high demand and you have to sign up for them a few days in advance, so this is great for me in keeping a schedule and routine to sign up for the classes and have something to look forward to. Not only am I getting my exercise in first thing in the morning, but I am able to focus and have a clear, alert mind when I get ready to dive into studying. What are some things that you do to help you from feeling overwhelmed?
