Sometimes, you just need a break! In medical school, between all the classes and studying and lectures, it’s highly important to take multiple breaks in order to stay sane and keep a level head. There are ways to still become inspired and focused on getting the job done, even while taking a break.
Whenever I am stressed and need a break from everything, I like to talk to my friends who are in the same boat as I am. They are able to talk me through my frustrations and help me through my struggles, because they know exactly what I am going through. I also like to talk to family/friends who are in the medical field, because they are able to give great advice on how to keep pushing through, even when times are incredibly tough. Talking with a current physician is one of the most refreshing things because they know exactly what you are going through, and how to get through it. They understand the struggle and can offer great insight on how to get over that current hurdle.
Simply having a conversation with someone can be a great way to unwind and refresh your mind. Getting your frustrations out in a productive manner can really free up the mind, making you feel a lot better in the long run. It’s worse to hold in your stressors and frustrations because they can cause detrimental effects not only mentally, but physically and emotionally as well.
