It is way too easy to fall into a routine of ordering take-out and eating meals that are less than good for you. The convenience factor, the comfort factor, and the time factor all play into planning our meals on a daily basis. It’s no secret that “bad” foods satisfy that instant gratification factor in our minds, especially if we have previously had a long day or just want something quick and easy to prepare and eat.
I have been sick for the last month, on and off, with a couple of different issues. This past month, I have also slacked completely on the gym and my diet because I have been so busy and studying so hard. It’s so easy to go through a restaurant drive-thru to order something, versus taking the time to prepare something that is healthier for you in the long run. I don’t have any concrete proof that my bad habits this past month led me to become sick, but I know that it definitely played a big role. I felt constantly tired this past month, and I know a big part of it had to to do with my poor diet and messed-up daily routines.
One way that I have tried to combat this problem is to meal prep. It was so easy on a day when I was feeling motivated to prepare a bunch of meals ahead of time for the upcoming week. For meals that will last longer, divide them into freezer bags and keep them in the freezer until you’re ready to eat them.
How are some ways that you keep a healthy diet even when your life is stressful?
