I want to wish each and every one of you a very happy new year—one filled with joy, happiness, and good health! When I look back on 2018, I had my fair share of happy moments in addition to some really, really challenging ones—some of the most challenging moments I’ve faced actually. Every year will bring a new set of memories, and for that I am very grateful.
Typically, I post a new year’s resolutions list every year of what I hope to do and accomplish. But I wanted this year to be a little different. I think it’s important to reflect on the past year—what you’ve learned, what you loved, what made you stronger. Reflecting and giving yourself time to think will really allow you to appreciate what you’ve experienced. In turn, I think it makes it easier to give you a sense of what you hope to accomplish in the new year.
For the 2018 holiday season, I did something I don’t normally do. I gave myself time to reflect, unplugged from social media, and just gave myself time for myself. I learned much from this time—who’s important to me and who isn’t, who is supportive and who isn’t, the person I want to be and don’t want to be, what I hope to accomplish and what I don’t hope to accomplish, what I find meaningful, and so much more.
I challenge you to do the same. Find time in the new year to reflect if you haven’t already. Once you’ve done that and given yourself a chance to hit the reset button, then set goals and write down what you hope to accomplish. I think you’ll be better for it! I’m not sure what 2019 will have in store, but I hope for the absolute best! #happynewyear #2019
