Studying in medical school is incredibly overwhelming. There are hundreds of different resources you can use, all presenting the material in their own way. My first semester of school, I remember asking all the upperclassmen what their favorite resources and methods of studying were, and I got different responses each time. I was that student that wanted to get all the resources and read them all. In reality, this is impossible and not the smartest way to study.
It’s important to choose 1-2 resources that fit YOU the best. Don’t use a particular book just because your friend uses it, or because it’s what you think you need to use. Some resources don’t click for you like they do for other people, so it’s important to find what works for you and stick with it. I stopped asking others what they used and started doing my own research and finally found a great couple of sources that worked best for me while studying. It’s important to stick with what works for you because that is the goal–to learn the material in the most relevant way possible and in a way that you understand.
