We are living in a time like no other and as a physician to be in just a few short months I have been adamant to look for ways that I can contribute given that our school has pulled us out of our clinical rotations to ensure our safety. I have found some ways that I can be helpful in the community with my fellow colleagues and wanted to share them with you all because I know that others have also been interested in helping! For example, one way to help is to ask your local hospital how you can volunteer as a caretaker for healthcare provider children/pets. You can help run errands for the elderly vulnerable population, assist in public health research, or even organize funds to gather more protective equipment for hospital personal. There are many opportunities that you can take part of from the comfort of your home or in the community (with social-distancing of course!) What are some ways that you think would be helpful in the community during this pandemic?
