The rank list will be due in just a few months and I have been doing a lot of reading on the topic. I thought I would just give a few tips on this process so it will come a little easier to those making these tough decisions in the future.
- If you are applying to multiple specialties you want to rank strategically. Meaning that you should pick the one specialty that you will be most happy practicing and rank all of those programs first. Do not go back and forth between specialties during your rank. This will put you at a disadvantage for all of your specialties.
- Do not base your rank list on how you think the programs are ranking you. Rank the programs you would be happiest in the highest. The Match is made to favor the students’ requests.
- Do not stress out too much over this. Make sure your mind is clear, so you can make an informative decision. This is not something that should be rushed, so take your time.
