16 days left and counting until I’m home free! I have been counting down the days until I am done with the semester. I cannot believe how fast the semester went by! As the holiday season began to approach, it was hard for me to completely focus on what needed to be done, so I had to set some boundaries and rules for myself to finish what I needed to do. It was hard seeing my family and friends back home gathering for the holidays and me not being there. Here is how I stay motivated for the last month of classes before finals!
- Plan something fun to do before the finals. My friends and I had a “Friendsgiving” potluck dinner the weekend after third block exams. This was a great refresher and relaxing experience that we were all able to share together, as well as eat some delicious food! I was looking forward to that all week, and made sure that I followed my study schedule until that day came, almost as if I was rewarding my hard work with a fun day with friends. This also refocused me into getting my mind ready for finals week.
- Count down the days. The days really fly by when you have a countdown to the end of the semester! I started one not too long ago, and I can’t believe that I have a little under 3 weeks left to go. This really motivates me to work hard and to keep studying for finals so I can ensure I will have a relaxing, stress-free holiday break!
- Make plans for the holidays during break. My best friend and I have a ‘list’ of fun activities we want to do when I get home. Having this list motivates me to work hard for finals now because I have something to look forward to when I get home! It’s also a nice study break to do research on cool new restaurants or activities that you can do with family/friends when you’re done with the semester.
How do you stay focused before finals?
