I’m taking a new approach to studying for Step 2. My scheduling for school allows time to craft studying into fourth year so I figured I’d go ahead and get it done. The date is July 26th…not nearly as scary as my Step 1 date. Still I’m formulating a plan to make sure I do well on this one too.
I’m starting to review for the surgery shelf as I would study for boards. This way the GI, Nephro, and Heme topics will double as board studying and I don’t have to go back and study for surgery again. Once I’ve taken shelf, I’ll take a week off to recharge but I’m planning to read and do questions during that week. We shall see how that works out (I know myself–I’ll probably not get half as much done on break week).
Then for the grand finale known as crunch time. I’ll be spending about 12 hours a day for 3 weeks reviewing everything for the big day. I’ve been told that this is overkill. That is fine. I’d rather be over prepared than panicking because I’m not ready. I’m praying for strength to make it through.
The count down is on, 3 more exams away from the end!
