In the next couple of weeks, I will be starting my third-year clinical rotations! I am so excited to start this next chapter of my education and to gain all kinds of hands-on learning and experience. This is the time where I finally get to put my studying to good use and to test my knowledge while learning on the job. I’m in the middle of filling out a ton of paperwork for the hospitals as well as getting my belongings all packed up to move into my new apartment this weekend. I cannot wait to see what is in store for me this upcoming semester!
This is a very stressful time for me – making sure all my documents are in order and getting everything organized not only with the hospital but with my future apartment. However, I know this stressful time will be worth it when I am settled and ready to start rotations! I can’t wait to see what I get to experience and learn during this time.
I think I’m most excited about gaining hands-on experience and knowledge. I learn best in an environment where I can practice and do what I have learned in the classroom. It helps the information and knowledge stick better, and I’m able to retain it quicker as well. I am nervous for my first few weeks when I’m not too sure what to expect from the other attendings and students, but I know I am not the only one who is nervous. I plan on doing my best and showing my knowledge!
