After my time at the reservation, my travel partner dropped me off in the Phoenix Airport to make my way to the SNMA National Leadership Institute! It took me a total of 12 hours traveling to get to Washington DC with the flight delays and problems with transportation. Needless to say, arriving at 2:00 am when I needed to be up by 6 to make it to the meetings was definitely a challenge.
Needless to say, my meetings went well. I met quite a few new people and enjoyed our outing to U Street! It’s never a dull moment with us and this night was no different. The following day included more meetings and a very painful goodbye since I probably won’t be able to see my SNMA family until January!!! Way too long to wait!
While there, I also got to spend some time with with my family. My cousin is 16 and it’s great to spend time with her and watch her grow up! I spent some time here over spring break, which was cool, but the time spent with her this time around was priceless. We went shopping today and only time will tell how much more awesome this trip will be! I am really hoping to be able to see the Smithsonian museums and all that DC has to offer. The best part, they’re free and I’m here during the week with no chances of snow. We shall see what happens, but honestly anything we do here will be incredible!
