The month of February was a blur! Between exams, elections, and life, it really doesn’t feel like it ever happened. So the highlights, killed yet another exam, enjoyed a little time with my family, and I managed to plan an awesome event for our SNMA on obesity awareness. Also, I ran for my school’s senator position and even though I didn’t win, I found that I can not only organize a great campaign but I only lost by 18 votes. With all that I put in, its like I won anyway just from what I was able to learn from the experience. It’s nice to be almost done with this class as well but the amount of stress I’m going to be under for the next two weeks is going to be rough – TBL, ethics debate, exams all leading up to my final next week. I will be praying for strength and patience to get through it all.
I do have some awesome things to look forward to, though. I’m waiting to hear back about a few scholarships as well as the summer programs that I have applied for. I’m also eagerly awaiting word on the research fellowship that I applied for through the SNMA. In hopes of diversifying the world of academic medicine, they have an opportunity for students to participate in presenting their research at the national conference and seminars to prepare students for a career in academic medicine.
Fingers crossed! Opportunities are steadily coming at me, so, I’m actively applying for scholarships as I am eligible and keeping a little list of programs until I’m set for this summer. No rest for the weary…I’ve got more studying to do, but talk to you soon!
